CBT Techniques
Cognitive behavioural therapy is a type of talk therapy which can work nearly as well as medication and sometimes even better in some people with mild Depression and Anxiety. It works well if you combine it with medication in moderate to severe cases such as using anxiolytics and antidepressants.
A therapist can help you identify the negative thoughts and try and replace them with positive thoughts. The therapist can also help you overcome your guilt and low self esteem. The techniques you learn with your therapist will last you for a lifetime and you can apply them in your everyday life, home and work.
It is very important for people who are taking medication for depression, anxiety or anything else never to stop unless advised by your doctor. It is important to tell you doctor if you are starting any new therapy or treatment including diets or supplements etc..
A Therapist usually recommends 10 – 20 sessions and it can last for more than a year. If the symptoms reappear it is advisable to restart the therapy. We can use other natural therapies in combination with mindfulness and CBT to get excellent results in stress, anxiety and stress related disorders such as IBS, headaches, difficulty sleeping, weight gain, lack of energy and many more.
