Can allergies be helped with Low Dose Medicine?

10/1/2019

One in every 5 people may suffer from Allergies which happens when your immune system reacts to an allergen and the result could be very mild or very severe even leading to an anaphylactic shock, so it is important with the help of your doctor to try and identify your allergens and then try to avoid them. Reaction to stress can also cause a rash or exacerbate an allergic reaction such as Urticaria, Eczema, Psoriasis and Asthma.
House Dust: house dust mite live on your pillow, mattress and carpets. It feeds on our dead skin and its droppings produces dust which can cause allergies such as eczema, rhinitis and asthma. And some of the ingredients in detergents, washing up liquids, soaps, perfumes, and make up may be responsible for a whole host of reactions from headaches, nausea, wheeze, and rash.
Different foods such as peanuts and shellfish as well as some additives in your food like colourings, chemicals and preservatives may be responsible for causing allergic reactions, depending on the severity of the reaction your doctor may prescribe certain medications including an adrenaline pen for emergencies.

Your jewellery especially nickel can result in a rash around your neck, ear lobes and wrist or hands.

Latex glove allergy has become quite common due to its widespread use at home and at work, especially if you are working in a health clinic or a hospital. It can result in hives, rash, itch and sometimes with breathing difficulties.

Low dose medicine treats the cause, not the symptoms, with virtually no side effects. It uses S.K.A (Sequential Kinetic Activation) to make safe but very effective remedies to prevent and treat illnesses with excellent results.  L.D.M treats the human being as a whole, not just the disease, and considers the human being as a mind body unit with his/her individuality which is an important part of the L.D.M concept.  Allergies (including Asthma, Hay Fever, Food Allergies) are some of the conditions helped by L.D.M.

Combat S.A.D. by getting outside for a few hours

3/10/2018

The onset of winter will see most of us feeling a little blue. The reduction in day light hours can make us all feel less active and tired, and many of us will have a tendency to eat more. For some, however, this natural loss of energy and enthusiasm with the change of season is far too strong. When this happens you may be suffering from Seasonal Affected Disorder (S.A.D) or the winter blues.

S.A.D is a recognised form of depression that develops in the winter months and usually disappears in the spring and summer, but some scientists disagree. It is a condition that may display similar symptoms to depression. If you experience a noticeable alteration in your mood, behaviour and sleep with the change from summer to autumn that you may be suffering from S.A.D.

Some people suffering from S.A.D. cut themselves off from family and friends, feel irritable and experience a loss of libido. Generally life becomes a task and for some unbearable with feelings of low self- esteem and sometimes guilt. If you are experiencing these feelings then it is important that you should consult your general practitioner for advice.

Because many S.A.D. sufferers have been helped by light therapy it is suggested that the primary reason for S.A.D. symptoms is the lack of adequate light in the dark winter months. You should try to get outside for between one and two hours every day and avoid using sunglasses.

Seeking psychological support during the darker months can also be very helpful as can light therapy and some of the complementary therapies available such as acupuncture, homeopathy, herbal remedies, massage, reflexology, yoga, mindfulness, CBT and natural restoration of gut bacteria can be complementary.

Usual symptoms of S.A.D. :
Lack of initiative, lack of concentration, weight gain, sudden mood swings, loss of libido, intense fatigue, feeling guilty and worthless, disrupted eating habits, lack of adequate sleep and early morning wakening.

It is essential to consult your doctor before you embark on any self treatment. The contents of this article are for information purposes only and are not intended to prevent, diagnose or cure any medical conditions.

Compulsive exercise disorder

2/9/2018

Regular exercise is essential for our overall health and is encouraged by most scientists and doctors. But when exercising becomes a compulsion then it may result in harm rather than good.
Here are some potential signs of Compulsive exercise disorder:
1. Refusal to slip a workout even if you are tired, sick or hurt.
2. Feeling anxious or guilty when missing even one workout.
3. If you are preoccupied with weight and exercise.
4. Tendency to eat less after missing a workout.
5. If it starts affecting your social life.
6. Basing your self worth on the number of recent workouts.
7. Sometimes Compulsive exercise disorder can go hand in hand with Compulsive eating disorder. People with an eating disorder may become obsessed with exercising in order to lose weight
8. Some scientists also call this condition Anorexia Athletica
9. Its not a fully recognised condition.

In our clinic we use a multi prong approach in treating this and many other conditions.  We also use other evidence based therapies such as Low Dose Medicine (LDM), gut health and microbiome restoration, nutritional and nutraceutical therapies, lifestyle medicine, CBT techniques, mindfulness, complex homeopathy, herbals and needle free medical acupuncture to achieve excellent results.
