Hay fever and low dose medicine (a new and natural approach)

6/12/2019

Hay fever (acute seasonal allergic rhinitis) is the most common type of allergy. Symptoms include itchy red eyes also known as allergic conjunctivitis, watery discharge from the nose and eyes, sneezing, fatigue, headache and nervous irritability. It can mimic the symptoms of common cold and affects 30% of the population worldwide. Post nasal drip of mucus can lead to a cough, and nose bleed in severe cases. Tree and grass pollen is the usual cause of hay fever in spring and summer-time but perennial allergic rhinitis can be caused by some or all of the following: animal hair, dust, feathers, fungus, spores and moulds the symptoms of which can stay with you in any part of the year. Some of us are born to be allergic from birth it occurs in both males and females and anywhere in the world, hay fever is not contagious.

More than half of hay fever suffers complain of being tired, run down, irritable and find it hard to stay focused which in turn can sometimes lead to sick days and time off work. The sale of antihistamines goes up considerably higher in this season, your doctor may prescribe some nasal sprays or send you to a specialist for further investigations and treatment.

The best defence is to avoid contact with the allergens however this is not always possible. The use of dust mite covers on your mattress, pillows and duvet can help. Avoid cigarette smoke and using perfumed cosmetics and sprays. You can make your body better able to cope with the allergen, by removing the substances in your diet that are putting your immune system under strain. Some of the substances best avoided include: alcohol, coffee, food additives, colourings and preservatives, junk food, white flour and its products such as cakes, pastries, biscuits and buns.

Eat a well-balanced whole food diet rich in fruit and vegetables, whole grains such as brown rice, raw nuts and seeds. Foods that are rich in magnesium are thought to help prevent and reduce symptoms of hay fever. These include; bananas, kidney beans, soy beans, lima beans, almonds, whole-wheat flour, brown rice, molasses and peas.

Medical needle free acupuncture and laser acupuncture can work well for allergies. We also use a combination of therapies such as Gut Health and Microbiome Restoration, Micro-immunotherapy, Nutritional therapy, lifestyle medicine, herbals and homeopathy to help boost overall health and Mindfulness and CBT techniques among other therapies to help stress, anxiety and irritability related to all types allergies and intolerances.

Can allergies be helped with Low Dose Medicine?

8/4/2019

One in every 5 people may suffer from Allergies which happens when your immune system reacts to an allergen and the result could be very mild or very severe even leading to an anaphylactic shock, so it is important with the help of your doctor to try and identify your allergens and then try to avoid them. Reaction to stress can also cause a rash or exacerbate an allergic reaction such as Urticaria, Eczema, Psoriasis and Asthma.

House Dust: house dust mite live on your pillow, mattress and carpets. It feeds on our dead skin and its droppings produces dust which can cause allergies such as eczema, rhinitis and asthma. And some of the ingredients in detergents, washing up liquids, soaps, perfumes, and make up may be responsible for a whole host of reactions from headaches, nausea, wheeze, and rash.

Different foods such as peanuts and shellfish as well as some additives in your food like colourings, chemicals and preservatives may be responsible for causing allergic reactions, depending on the severity of the reaction your doctor may prescribe certain medications including an adrenaline pen for emergencies.

Your jewellery especially nickel can result in a rash around your neck, ear lobes and wrist or hands.

Latex glove allergy has become quite common due to its widespread use at home and at work, especially if you are working in a health clinic or a hospital. It can result in hives, rash, itch and sometimes with breathing difficulties.

Low dose medicine treats the cause, not the symptoms, with virtually no side effects. It uses S.K.A (Sequential Kinetic Activation) to make safe but very effective remedies to prevent and treat illnesses with excellent results.  L.D.M treats the human being as a whole, not just the disease, and considers the human being as a mind body unit with his/her individuality which is an important part of the L.D.M concept.  Allergies (including Asthma, Hay Fever, Food Allergies) are some of the conditions helped by L.D.M.

What is causing my phelgm/mucus? Can Physiological Regulating Medicine help?

14/12/2018

Mucus is normal and forms a lining inside the lungs of a healthy person and helps keep our lungs from drying out and it also forms a barrier against bacteria and viruses.

All healthy bodies require mucus in the lungs and other parts of our bodies but too much of it can lead to uncomfortable symptoms.

Here are only some of the causes of phlegm/extra mucus:
  • Allergies (Hay fever, Asthma, Food Allergies etc )
  • Colds/Flu’s/Sinusitis
  • Tobacco (smoke), air pollution
  • Lung disease e.g. infections such as pneumonia
  • Lung Cancer
  • Hiatus Hernia
  • Acid Reflux
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Cystic Fibrosis etc.

Always consult your Doctor first for any medical advice and to rule out any serious illness. Once the cause is identified and is not serious, complementary therapies can help a lot. Dr Bhatti has been treating allergies/intolerances for the last 30 years.

In our clinic we use a multi pronged approach in treating this and many other conditions with evidence based therapies such as Physiological Regulating Medicine (P.R.M), gut health and microbiome restoration, nutritional and nutraceutical therapies, lifestyle medicine, natural hormonal balancing, glandular support, soft tissue and joint support, complex homeopathy, herbals, needle free mesotherapy and needle free acupuncture to achieve excellent results.

Christmas tree and other holiday allergies

16/11/2018

Sale of antihistamines and boxes of tissues go up in winter but especially during the Holidays.
Here are some of the causes of the spike in allergies:
  • Food – During winter holidays people eat out, with lots of seasonal and unusual foods and parties where you may not know the ingredients of the foods you a consuming, ending up with some unpleasant allergic reaction. Alcohol my affect your judgement, and you may forget to check the ingredients you are allergic to.
  • Mould – In a closed, heated room during cold days it floats invisibly in the air or may be present on wreaths and some evergreen plants which we bring inside of our homes.
  • Dust mites – Although present in our homes all year round especially in our mattresses, pillows, blankets and quilts, their effect on our allergies worsens with stuffy and damp air.
  • Christmas trees – It is usually mould and spores present on the tree which can trigger your allergies, experts advise hosing the tree and wreaths before bringing them inside. Even an artificial tree or decorations can grow mould in a warm and damp environment or you could have an allergy to the material and paint these trees and decorations are made of, not forgetting the dust they accumulate.
  • Pets – The same applies to our pets as they might spend more time indoors during the festivities, thus pet allergies may worsen during the holiday season.

In our clinic we use a multi pronged approach in treating this and many other conditions with evidence based therapies such as Low Dose Medicine (L.D.M,), gut health and microbiome restoration, nutritional and nutraceutical therapies, lifestyle medicine, natural hormonal balancing, glandular support, soft tissue and joint support, complex homeopathy, herbals, needle free mesotherapy and needle free acupuncture to achieve excellent results.
