Laser acupuncture (no needle) can ease the pain of arthritis and promote restful sleep

21/8/2019

The aim of Acupuncture is to restore and maintain health through the stimulation of specific points on the body. Traditionally this treatment has been carried out using needles but modern advances have introduced two new methods - Electro-acupuncture and Laser-acupuncture - both of which offer a no needle alternative to the traditional approach.

The most common use of laser acupuncture is to treat specific conditions especially skin conditions such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, ulcers. Laser acupuncture has also been noted to promote sleep, minimises anxiety, pain and the withdrawal symptoms for those trying to quit smoking. Laser acupuncture is extremely popular therapy usually performed by Doctors, Naturopaths, Chiropractors and other practitioners for relieving tension in the muscles, reducing muscle irritability, reducing Inflammation, and improving circulation, nutritional absorption, especially to the muscle, skin, soft tissue, tendons, and ligaments giving great results for musculoskeletal conditions such as stiffness, sports injuries, arthritis, fibromyalgia and old injuries.

There are so many conditions (digestive and menstrual disorders) which can be helped with this treatment and Dr Bhatti has been using this and other complementary care systems successfully for more than 30 years.

To discuss conditions treated and therapies offered at our clinic, contact Dr. Bhatti at (087) 1915051 or email health@drbhatti.ie.   During your first office visit, Dr. Bhatti may ask you at length about your health-condition, lifestyle and behaviour.  Please consult your GP before starting new treatment.

What is causing my constipation and can it be serious?

19/8/2019

If you have less than three bowel movements a week, it is usually considered constipation. Most people suffer from constipation once in a while, but some people suffer from chronic constipation which can affect their daily life. Usually they feel sluggish, lethargic and sometimes irritable. It can affect appetite and concentration. Some people are afraid to eat or go to the toilet.

Symptoms:
1. Passing hard stools
2. Difficulty in having a bowel movement
3. Sometimes a lot of straining is required which in turn can lead to other problems
4. Movement is hardly ever satisfactory
5. In severe cases a person might need manual evacuation
6. Some people are prescribed laxatives or enemas but your doctor should always be consulted before starting any self treatment or therapy.

Causes:

  • Stress
  • Dehydration
  • Any physical blockage such as an obstruction, narrowing of the bowel or anal fissure
  • Cancer
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Strokes
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s
  • It is very common in pregnancy
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Diabetes
  • It can run in families

Constipation is more common in people who lead a sedentary lifestyle, people who do not drink enough water, people who eat a lot of processed or junk foods, people who suffer from anxiety/depression and take certain medications eg anti-depressants and codeine etc.

If your doctor has identified a cause and ruled out any serious condition associated with your constipation then complementary therapies can play a great role in helping this condition.

In the Holistic Health Clinic, Dr. Bhatti uses a multi pronged approach in treating this and many other conditions with evidence based therapies such as Micro-immunotherapy, Physiological Regulating Medicine (P.R.M), Gut Health and Microbiome restoration, Nutritional and Nutraceutical therapies, Lifestyle Medicine, Natural Hormonal Balancing, Glandular support, Soft tissue and joint support, Complex Homeopathy, Herbals, and Needle free Medical Acupuncture, Therapeautic Mindfulness and CBT techniques to achieve excellent results.

Bleeding and painful haemorrhoids (piles) should not be ignored

16/8/2019

Haemorrhoids are swollen veins of the lower rectal area, usually resulting from pressure. They can be external or internal. They can result in pain, itching, irritation and bleeding. It can be difficult to find a comfortable position to sit. It is quite a common condition, over 4% of the population in the western world suffer with it. It is most common in both men and women aged between 45 and 65. In severe cases, they may get thrombosed and a clot might form which can be very painful, in some cases ongoing bleeding may lead to anaemia and in rare circumstances piles may indirectly lead to faecal incontinence, hence it is always advisable to go and see your GP.

Here are some of the causes:
1. Straining during bowel movement
2. Sitting for long periods of time
3. Chronic constipation or diarrhoea
4. Obesity
5. Low fibre diet
6. Pregnancy
7. Chronic cough
8. Sedentary lifestyle

In Dr Bhatti’s clinic he uses a multi pronged approach in treating this and many other conditions with evidence based therapies such as Micro-immunotherapy, Physiological Regulating Medicine (P.R.M), Gut Health and Microbiome restoration, Nutritional and Nutraceutical therapies, Lifestyle Medicine, Natural Hormonal Balancing, Glandular support, Soft tissue and joint support, Complex Homeopathy, Herbals, and Needle free Medical Acupuncture, Therapeautic Mindfulness and CBT techniques to achieve excellent results.

Micro-immunotherapy medicines contain high dilutions of interleukins, growth factors and specific nucleic acids (SNA) for the support of the immune system by restoring balance leading to a positive effect on the person’s overall health and defences. It can be successfully used in this or any other inflammatory diseases which are the consequence of imbalance in our immune system. The main object is to restore and correct the functioning of our immune system.

Micro-immunotherapy seeks to regulate the immune response and optimally modulate the inflammation and contributes to correcting the function of the bowel. It can be used alongside conventional medicine as a supportive therapy.

There are international doctors’ associations committed to Micro-immunotherapy training for healthcare professionals. With the help of Serology and other blood tests, the progress of Micro-immunotherapy treatment can be monitored.

Dr Bhatti is the first doctor to practise Micro-Immunotherapy in Ireland.
